Ocean Street Dock, Hyannis
The Ocean Street Dock is approx. 1500 feet from the cottage and
host a variety of things to do, here are (believe me) just a few:
-
This is the dock that the Hy-Line Cruises use to go to
Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, fishing cruises (all type half day, full
day), 1 hour Harbor Cruises, Saturday Cocktail Cruise, Blues Cruise, etc, etc.
-
You can take a sailing cruise on antique sail boats like the
Cat Boat. There is also larger sail boat cruises.
-
There is a Duckmobile cruise (similar to the ones in Boston).
-
There is a Pirates Boat cruise for youngsters.
There are 5 places to eat around the Dock which boasts
everything from fine dining to take out. This is also a working
Fishing Fleet Dock but in the summer months one would not see as much of the
fleet. |

Kalmus Beach, Ocean Street, Hyannis
Kalmus Beach (which is 5/10 of a mile from the cottage) is a world known
Windsurfing Beach. Sailors come from all over the world to sail here. It is
one of the few beaches on the East Coast that has a steady summer thermal most
afternoons.
-
From the shores of Kalmus Beach you can view the Kennedy Compound in
Hyannisport
-
Kalmus is a beautiful sand beach which has beaches facing both North and
South.
-
It has a lovely bath house, snack bar and bath rooms
-
Hosts a population of endangered Pipin Plovers
-
The land was donated to the town by Doctor Kalmus, who invented Tech.
Color for Walt Disney.
